EUROPA HOUSE

Itaúna granite, Moledo stone, and natural wood take turns across the rooms, creating a sober base that carries the rest of the project. On the façades, muxarabis reinterpreted in wood-effect aluminum filter the light and honor Brazilian architecture without imitating it. On the rooftop, the choice to leave the concrete exposed, with no plaster ceiling, marks the house's most contemporary point.

Generous windows run through all four floors, and the light shifts in intensity on each one. On the ground floor, it spreads across the kitchen and living room; on the bedroom floor, it enters more contained, respecting the privacy of each room. That variation — open below, more withdrawn above — is what gives Casa Europa its own rhythm.
The architecture explores natural light, ventilation, and materiality as structuring elements of the experience. Natural stones, wood, and exposed concrete compose a contemporary language inspired by Brazilian architecture, while reinterpreted mashrabiya screens and the strong connection between interior and exterior areas reinforce the feeling of comfort, permanence, and timelessness.

Based on our client's wishes - it was clear throughout the entire process we will use only organic materials.

The bright clean walls in contrast to the light wood, plants and art make this place feel like “home”, not just a house.
